Dyson – cleaning up in the 21st century

Dyson has revolutionised the household vacuum cleaner market over the last 20 years; and it doesn’t stop there.

In Sir Dyson’s world, everyday household appliances are being subjected to wacky, but ingenious design and feature ideas that wouldn’t be out of place in 2050.

Every house owns a vacuum cleaner of some sort. From your Grannies push along roller cleaner that only seems to push crumbs around the floor to your parent’s bulky upright that takes four hours of gun-busting in the gym to shove it around the carpets.

Dyson has come up with the solution; The DC44 is a lightweight (2.3kg) cordless vacuum which is claimed to be the most powerful cordless vacuum in the world.

As we are all petrol heads here at SuperBike, we were fascinated by the technology in the motor – it spins at 104,000rpm –five times faster than an F1 motor! Shame it doesn’t sound like one though.

It’s a smart, nimble looking design which can reach from the floor to cleaning those pesky cobwebs from the corners of the workshop. The detachable aluminium ‘wand’ means it’s perfectly adaptable for stairs and car cleaning too.

The new Dyson digital motor is small and lightweight that is up to three times faster than conventional motors whilst new battery technology gives the DC44 a full fade-free 20 minutes run time.

The DC44 is available now and costs £279.99.

With the weather being as unpredictable as forecasting this year’s MotoGP’s champion, you need a suitable product to keep you warm from the arctic blasts and cool on those odd days of the year when the sun shines.

AM05 Blue
Bringing hot and cold airflow to the consumer is the new AM05 Dyson hot + cool bladeless fan heater.

We all love a two-for-one deal but how about a four-for-one? The AM05 bladeless fan heater is perfect for all four seasons giving year round temperature control for your front room, the kitchen, and more importantly the garage. Its cutting edge minimal design ensures it won’t look out of place in the most upmarket of homes and will impress any guest.

How it works:

Using Air Multiplier™ technology and a motor engineered for greater airflow, AM05 draws in 28 litres of air per second via a mixed flow impeller. Nine asymmetrically aligned fins, with rows of tiny holes, reduce friction caused by the colliding high and low pressure air maintaining a constant smooth airflow.

During heating the air travels over ceramic stones, self-regulating the heat transferred. The air is then accelerated through a 2.5mm aperture set within the loop amplifier. This creates a jet of air which passes over an airfoil-shaped ramp angled at 5?. Creating an area of low pressure behind the fan, air is drawn-in through a process known as inducement. < Surrounding air is drawn into the airflow in a process called entrainment.

The AM05 hot + cool bladeless fan heater starts at £349.99 and is available now.

Dyson really has bought mundane household products to life. I’d like to see into James Dyson’s mind and see what crazy ideas he’s conjuring up next. My guess is that we will be equally as excited.
