Buell or Harley because they start to fall to pieces the first time you start them.

Honda Goldwing. If you really need that much comfort, buy a car.
Also.....

Engine is a 1200cc three-cylinder out of an VW Lupo 3L DIESEL!! It originally produced 61 bhp but has been "specially" tuned, and has improved to 90 hp.
WHY!?

In real time as in 21st c -I went to an open day at the Hungaroring last year-all the usual suspects were there and being open minded I tried a Buell-well after 1 lap I passed blood in me water Are these built to plough fields in the vast planes that are the US of A(sorry cous)or the Siberian wastes? Do people really buys these???? Ugly-pants shit-crap are all positive adjectives when levelled against this THING Also I agree-Goldwings? Why and arent the riders arrogant-like Harleys riders-full of poo(any Harley/ding ding riders out there care to comment?)

In my experience folks who take the piss out of Goldwings have never ridden one. Im 60 yrs old and my 1800 Wing on Aug04 plate has just turned 74,000 trouble free enjoyable miles. I ride summer/winter rain/hail/shine. I need the comfort - I have a trapped nerve in my spine which affects my hands but regularly clock up over 600 miles in a day ( i gained a gold award in last weekends Welsh Rally a tad over 550 miles with 16 hours in the saddle) Im entered for the ACU national in July and that will be about 750 miles door to door (including riding through the night with no kip). Dont knock a Goldwing till youve tried one properly ie 2 up fully loaded for a whole day. The only bikes i will not consider ae those with chain or belt drive - they are just not suitable for the milages I clock up.

Yes, I've ridden a Goldwing. Twice. The problem, I think, is that the first time I rode one I came from riding 600cc sportsbikes (and smaller) and at the time, found the whole experience a bit of a culture shock. Over the years, as the back/neck/shoulders have aged, I've gradually gravitated toward the sports-tourer side of things, and considered (and test ridden) everything from Pan-Euros to Sprint STs, and a Goldwing for the second time. It's not such a culture shock the second time, but it still all seems just a little bit over the top to me. Notwithstanding your own (very valid) reasons for owning one, I still can't help but think that such a massive level of comfort and accessories is a way removed from the kind of riding I enjoy.
Having said all that, if I am lucky enough to reach your advanced years (with respect), then I'll probably be looking at Goldwings and the like in an entirely different light!

Yes I have ridden a goldwing-the very first model. That was enough. My gripe is the "Wing-Ding" type riders-we all ride on two wheels but they do-absolutely do think they are a superior race-on the road and when you try to be sociable-present company accepted but you IMO are unique(after all you are on this site)

I have a wave off a bloke on a wing regularly...He must be local coz he beeps the horn when he rides past the house!
You hear him riding up the road, not his stupidly loud cans...his stupidly loud Stereo!!!!! seems nice enough though.

Any Moto-Guzzi. Or Harley. Or Lambretta. I think the typical riders of these bikes confirm the shitness of them. That said,[and although it is satisfying]should we really be slagging off other 'bikers'?

We,re not slagging bikers-just what bikes we dont like-unfortunately most such "bikes" are ridden by stereotyped such"bikers" who think they are more superior then others. And in my opinion thats 100% of Harley riders I see and 95% of Goldwing riders I see-tis a coincidence the bikes are the top of my "slag" bikes list

My brother has a Guzzi and there is nothing wrong with him, as far as I know this thread is about bikes not bikers.
