I read some rumours from MCM but as ever was sceptical but here it is from the horses mouth.
Good move I say he may never be world champ but he has put up a hell of a show when things have been right.

LOL. "I have been looking at Kawasaki and they always seem very good" is that code for they were the only team in MotoGP I was going to get a ride with?

I hope he has to eat his hat.
Like I said at the time though.
Westie should never have betrayed Yamaha and left them in Supersport like that. If he'd stayed and won the world championship he might have ended up with a better ride in MototGP.

He was also in talks with Greshini Honda and chose Kawasaki over them.

I read that the money offered by Gresini Honda and Kawasaki was about the same and, in the end, the prospect of a pukka factory team bike rather than a customer Honda swung it for him. Can't say that I'll be expecting much from him or Kawasaki in 2009, but I would like to be proved wrong. The more the merrier at the front of the grid.
I also heard a rumour that he had had a secret test at Autopolis with Kawasaki during the summer break.
