03 R6 Tyres
      #28007 - 15/06/2008 13:04

Hello all.
Ive got to get some new tyres for my R6, At the moment I have dunlop Qualifiers (I think) and they do the job. Not been riding long so not about to get my knee down any time soon.

Im thinking about getting a new set of dunlops but wondered if there was a better suited tyre about for the same money give or take a few quid for front and back.

thanks in advance

Ben.

If you are happy with the Qualifiers then keep em on other wise both Pirelli and Michelin do good tyres.
The Pirelli Diablo Rosso has recently had a good write up.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Dunlops or Pilot Powers from the way you describe your riding. One thing I would suggest is going with a 120/70 front tire and shimming the rear shock 4mm or so to raise the rear to compensate for the extra highth over the 120/60. You will have a lot better choice of tires, a little extra tread to lean on, and the sharper profile of the 70 and raising the rear will help the bike turn in a little faster. It really will make it a new bike.

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5000-foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn downhill ess-turn is quite another
