I was at the Exel show yesterday trying to get some more info on ignition retarders and got collard by a very enthusiastic guy from Harris promoting their InTech system of tubes.
It is claimed to reduce induction flutter and smooth out engine breaking to a point where a sprag clutch is not needed. They also claim it almost guarantees a optimum fuel air mixture. The results claimed are very clean burn (reduces naughty emissions)improved BHP. Plus better throttle response.
All too good to be true?
Anyone got any experience of it

I spoke to an engine tuner and performance parts type business recently and this gizmo was mentioned. Said outfit spent half a day messing about with it on a dyno, trying to find best way of using it. Quote: "the best thing we found to do with it was turn the adjuster screw in all the to the point at which it was having minimal impact."
Junk. And not made by Harris; I understand Harris is simply distributing it?
You know that phrase, 'if something is too good to be true, well, it probably is too good to be true'? That's this thing.
Unless some other tuning shop comes up with better evidence, of course.

Harris also said Ducati and Suzuki Teams used it in BSB
The adjuster seems to soften the amount of engine breaking. Harris said Greg Lavilla prefers hard engine breaking had it turned down, Leon Haslam who (apparently)does not like engine breaking had it on full.
I agree if it sounds too good +etc. But Harris were making some very big, very public claims...

Well, with endorsements like these, it shouldn't be too hard to track down something approximating the truth!

I just gave Leon a quick ring, but he said he was busy - something about time difference and needing sleep before testing.
Greg just told me to piss off - but I am not surprised as he caught me nobbing his girlfriend a while back.
Next, I think I will take one of those pretty green and yellow tablets...

For that to be absolutely true it would mean that all that can be invented already has.
There is always room for improvement. Although I too have my suspicians about this product, hence my question.

We've got an InTech on test at the moment on a long-term Yamaha R1—to find out if MCN's claims are, in any way, based on fact. I just called Harris to get some more information on it after noticing it's no longer listed on their website. The guy on the phone was a bit vague, and said just hold fire...
We'll still test it and let you know, but for the time being I'd hold fire before you buy one.

any more news on this product? met a guy who had one on a k2 1000 gixer and he said you would notice quicker throttle response and easier on fuel, also said he had a spare one for sale but can't find anybody else talking about or using it.
