Helps!
I own a 2002 suzuki bandit 600s. german import, full faired, 21,000kms, first bike so please dont judge me yet... ... right, the other day after taking the bike down me mates house, started the bike up after 2 days of standing outside under a cover, the blasted speedo doesnt work, rev counter does tho. Took the fairing off and found three big block connectors, when i disconned them one by one i found one for everything electrical, one for lights and one for clocks. why wont it work God!?!
when i plug the clocks connector back in the clocks do the ferrari like sweep but no speed when ridden.

Check the speed sensor connection at the engine end. Probably down towards the back near the gearbox/clutch.
Welcome to the madhouse by the way.

I had a look at the front sprocket this morning and took off what looked like a graphitey type magnet looking sensor ( i think). was caked in shite, gave it a clean but still no joy, and another thing, if my rearwheel is slightly out of alignment is this gonna kill me? Only i pulled the rear wheel back slightly to adjust the chain deflection? lols, thanks btw.

It won't kill you, but it WILL knacker chain/sprockets eventually. Provided you have about an inch of slack in the chain, and no tight spots as you rotate the rear wheel, and remember that however much you move the adjuster one side you do the same the other, you should be OK.
