Re: Team MLC does Pembrey - a Photo Essay...

I was at Pembrey with Kenny. In fact, Kenny was sharing my awning with me, so I saw first hand how badly damaged the bike was.

If Kenny had a full arsenal of spares, then there's a slim chance that he could have got out.

Thing is, amongst a load of other damage, he holed his engine casing and filled the hole with gravel and mud which, as anyone with even half a modicum of intelligence or mechanical aptitude will tell you, isn't a brilliant engine additive - in short, had Kenny ran the engine without at least flushing the oil through (I'd have gone as far as to strip the motor myself) he'd be risking major engine damage.

So, on his own without full factory support or even just a spare motor, he wasn't ever going to make the second race.

As for the self-absorbed fuckers, I think that's more than a little harsh. We may not thank the marshals immediately after a race when we're disappointed and pissed off with how our weekend has gone, but if you were actually involved in racing, you'd realise that the marshals are as much a part of the paddock community as the racers and we often applaud them or at least thank them, quite possibly when you're not watching.

Racing isn't easy - though it seems that most people that have never done it think it is. Maybe you should give it a go, Ken?
