Not MCC MC there is a big difference, I don't think your perception is that far out but they aren't all bad, altho as a club they are better organised than some corporations with the patch itself and title are now registered trademarks.
It never used to be that way the original ethos was purer.

I'm biased I used to have good friends in the Kent Chapter and considered prospecting during the late 80s wasn't always like that for me tho untill I met one and we got on like a house on fire.
