Motec was a joke actually - it's the aftermarket ECU system used by top superbike race teams and 500bhp-plus turbocharged drag racers. It's a really flexible replacement engine management system, but costs thousands and thousands of pounds for a proper setup! You don't need anything that complex I think. Dynos do read high or low, so maybe the 148bhp is right enough. It's only 10 per cent down on mine - which had done 3,000 miles. Best TRE? Well, you can get one with a gear position indicator built-in, which overcomes the gear indicator problem. That may be the best thing. Apart from that, all they are is a resistor which replicates that of the gear position sensor in an appropriate gear. |
