Via the Beeb-the most dangerous road is the Cat and Fiddle with the majority of F and S accidents being bikers. Ive never been on it and only have heard about it so I dug deeper into this latest piece of Nus. Well its all down to Stats as usual-but what concered me was some of the figures quoted ie 20% at Junctions???? That rings bells for all of us Im sure. When did a bike last pull out of a junction and cause an accident? So it must be the other way round-car pulling into path of bike? If so take that out the equation and thats a 5th of the total out the window Next-20% head ons Kenny P in an editorial once said in this context we really are killing ourselves. 13% run offs-another scary figure but WTF is 47% Other?? Covers a multitude of sins and since its the largest figure you would think they would explain it-no, cant find anything about it Any Cat and Fiddle pilots care to comment? On the other hand the A259(Hastings/Eastbourne) came 8th with over 50% being at Junctions. Im not sure if someone is trying to paint us blacker than we should be
