The A259 runs through Bexhill and Little Common the average age there is knocking on 70+ and they all drive hunched over the steering wheel peering out of the windscreen at a heady 25mph.
Eastbourne is no better all Blue Rinse central, the road between the two locations has just one 60mph limit a clear straight road with few junctions unlike the A259 between Hastings and Brenzett good fun bit of tarmack that is a favorite biking route.
I used to work in Little Common, one moring walked out of the shop to almost be run over by a pensioner driving an invalid carrige flat out on the pavement.
I think you can draw your own conclusions, I was surprised when I first heard the claim but after some thought it fit's.
