I've ridden it once, both ways. It's a lovely bit of road. Take a look on Youtube. The 'problem' with the junctions on the Cat & Fiddle is that they are often between corners or behind crests. And if you pile round a corner with your knee down, and find a bunch of people having the temerity to actually use a junction on your private race-track while you are riding it, then collisions will result. I'm sure that the Cat & Fiddle has its share of wank drivers, but no more than anywhere else. However, it attracts motorcyclists who want to ride it from all over the country, and the run off at the Cat & Fiddle is one of solid rock, a dry stone wall, oncoming traffic or a long drop to the valley floor. So in other words, it's good fun but extremely unforgiving of errors. No do-overs. |
