Strong Fuel smell
Hi Guys and dolls New to site I purchased a (N) reg 1996 SRAD 750 last week. It was in my freinds garage all week with no probs whatsoever. In putting it in my own garage tonight there was a strong smell of fuel when i went back out a hour or 2 after. It is coming from under the seat area, I took off the drivers seat and found the smell to be strong at the rear of the tank where the 2 hoses come out, one is thinner than the other and it seems to be the thin side on the left which is stronger, there are no petrol leaks at all, are these breather pipes and this is where the strong smell is coming from or something more serious, there are no other strong smells of fuel on the bike appart from in this area. PLEASE HELP,

put a clean dry rag under the fuel tank and under the hoses. if after a few hours the rag smells of fuel and is wet, then u know you got a leak, then it might be worth draining the fuel and replacing all fuel hoses, and whilst your there you could do the water coolent hoses. clean up where the hoses connect to the bike as there could be dirt on it creating a gap for fuel to leak. or if you have spare cash, take it to a garage and get them to find the problem! let me know how u get on?!
