My bike was registered in April 05.Do I need to get an M.O.T, or do I have until next year.

Re: M.O.T.

My understanding is new vehicles have 3 years before they need a MOT every year thereafter, assuming you are using it on the road.

So you should have had one done in April this year!

Re: M.O.T.

You'll get a letter from DVLA telling you when you need to get one 3 years from the date of reg.

Re: M.O.T.

I didn't think the DVLA reminded of an MOT being due, except for road tax renwal when they tell you to produce the mot cert.

This is true, they don't. The MOT is your responsibility. As it stands now, if you don't get your vehicle MOT'd using the new system, your insurance can be cancelled if your insurer finds out. From what I understand, we are linked in to a database now, insurance, Tax and MOTs.

We most definately are!! ANPR, The number plate reader will bring up all known details of ANY VEHICLE. And not just Tax insurance MOT. I got stopped because of my slightly little plate, and coz I was going a bit quick. Only got stopped as the guys in it thought the bike may have been nicked, which as far as i'm concerned is OK They had a big computerised box of tricks in the front of the car, I was sat in the back seat and it told me things about my bike that I didn't know!!
(And if some fucker had nicked it, I would have bought both coppers a beer and a big box of cigars if they had knocked seven shades of shit out of the theiving little shite)

As far as I'm concerned we need more of this type of copper on the roads....I may be playing the Devil's Advocate here, but, if this sort of stuff can hammer known drunk drivers, uninsured and unlicensed drivers and General fucking idiots etc, then it can be a good thing for us. At least if we get stopped we have a Human being to speak to and not a roadside robot....well, in most cases I suppose.
