I used to be a committed red wine man but when I met my girlfriend, she converted me to white. So here are some favourite white wines:

Casillero del Diablo - Chilean, lovely
Vino Torres Esmerelda - Spanish, very fragrant
The Wolf Blass yellow labels are nice too

And, of course, Bollinger for champagne darlings...

OH yes mixed with a crushed E and some Charlie, makes a lovely aperitif before a nights partying. (or used to)

The top pub in Byron Bay.
Right next to the center of action and the best part of the beach with a great outdoor section to watch all the bikini clad girls and enjoy the sea breeze and watch the dolphins and whales (that are left)...

There's lovely.

Coppers Sparkling ale on draught which is not only nice but also not full of evil chemicals.

And for a VERY fine tipple Coopers Vintage Ale. Only made every three years or so as it takes that long. (though of course that is complete crap as they could start it every year so it must be a marketing ploy)

Just back from Sunday lunch at our nearest pub (next village!) With this thread in mind, I thought I'd be a little adventurous, so ordered a bottle od Aussie Chiraz I'd never heard of.
Lovely!
Wife didn't like it, father-in-law wasn't keen, so had the bottle mostly to myself.
What was it?
I'm finding it hard to remember exactly after almost a whole bottle, but I think it was called Murphy's Big River - Murray River.... or something.
Very nice, anyway.

Isnt Banrock Station an aussie wine? I had it ages ago and it was quite nice-try some hungarian wines if you can-Egri Bikabér(bulls blood) but get only from the Eger area-robust full red(dry) very tasty. White wine-if you can get it is the "Tokaj" it comes in ratings of sweetness-No 6 being the sweetest

Anything by Brains...Superb, it's like Caffrey's but better!

Crow Valley bitter, Brewed in Cwmbran by a very small brewery (you can order online as well)

Thatchers Ciders, 3 litre box of Organic cider can be bought in ASDA,not fizzy like Strongbow but tastes just like Apple juice 7.4% lovely in the Summer. Do various other Organics in bottles as well, not cheap, but worth every penny.

Dortmunder DAB lager. 5 litre kegs in ALDI. I used to drink it in Germany, very nice!

Most Aussie Reds, Wolf Blass, Yellowtail, Snappygum, Burke's Rest all good.

Aspalls dry suffolk cider. Cracking cider thats soooo easy to drink and available at most supermarkets.

If you feeling flush Black Velvet is a good tiple.

Fill one pint glass halfway with champagne then fill the glass to the top (very very slowly) with guiness....

I'm just in the process of getting all the kit and I'm going to be brewing my own.

Doing Ale, and Cider and probably some Guinness type stuff and also I'll try and do a few bottles of the Vino for the lady of the Manor.

If in a few weeks I have an insane drunken ramble, you'll know the brew is good!
