It never ceases to amaze me the wonderful diversities of subjects discussed on this forum-I really think that if one put ones mind to it-using the information on all these threads-one would never need-a plumber-chef-gardener-mechanic-plastic surgeon-fishsmoker-roofer-writer-clairvoyant- sandwich maker- hooch stiller Still need a women though(unless your gay--man that is.If your a gay women can I watch ) It may even make one an even better rider

Yes we are a diverse bunch of reprobates aren't we.

We got Soldiers,Sailors, Airmen, Policemen, chefs, managers, factory workers, probably a solicitor or 3,doctors, nurses and Horticulturalists...maybe an odd or even mad scientist (I'm thinking of Dowds and that turbo charged B king)

We just need a master brewer/distiller to point us all in the appropriate direction that's all.......

Hooligans should be a class A drug not lager, or at the very least have a health warning.

Hoolimans is a nice pint...
problem is, that youngsters can't handle it...not much of a Lager man myself, but Hoolimans is one of the more palatable ones...beats Stella hands down IMO.

Waddayer mean the youngsters cant take it Im old and I cant take it,now I used to be able to drink 6 pints of it in an evening and just be a little wobbly-last time was over in the UK(03) I had just one pint and I was away. Is it a fact that as you get older your ability to drink alcohol and have no effects, lessens? (did I say that right???)

It's not getting into orbit that's affected by age, it's re-entry that gets harder as you you get older.

Yep.

I fall over several pints before I used to (can't hardly manage 2 nowadays), a whole bottle of red wine in one sitting is completely out of the question, and hangovers are TEN times worse than they ever used to be.

Welcome to being over 40!

You have to practise more guys.

Ands as for the hangovers... I would be VERY surprised if my liver isn't halfway shot after what I've done to it and from the sound of you lot yours ain't gonna be too good either.

What Makka said...Ya bunch of lightweights..

I am no longer in the 21 year old squaddie mode of 12 pints on a Sunday afternoon, But, if the racing is on, 6 -7 pints and a bottle of wine isn't unknown...And a Whisky or 3 if I know I get a lie in...

(This only applies if I don't have work and I don't have to drive the following morning)

This was said very tongue in cheek. However if you do drink this much it livens the racing up....TWICE as many bikes on the telly TWICE as much excitement.......and a REALLY bad head the following day!!

This is the bit that I just can't handle anymore! I've always had a low pain threshold (my wife calls it "wimp", but what does she know?) and I never used to suffer bad hangovers as a youngster.
But as I've got older...........

I know the feeling "The mind is writing cheques the body can't cash"...after 3 or 4 ,I think I'm young and fit again and able to drink like a fish...

The following morning I feel like I've been 10 rounds with Mike Tyson..

Right Lads, Beer! I am now drinking the first batch of my brew, it's now palatable...very drinkable.

I have found a homebrew specialist shop near to me..

Don't use white sugar from supermarkets to feed the Yeast in your brew...it makes it have a bit of an aftertaste....mine does have a little bit of a bitter taste after you drink it. (It is my 1st attempt, I didn't know any better)

I now have 36 pints of real Ale down in bottles and 36 pints of Cider down as well, I will update as and when they are drinkable....the first batch of these will be in about 6 weeks....IFF ISH NOICE YULL NO BOU IC...HIC

I'm doing wine as well, my bro in law used to make it in University, we are trying lots of things , my daughter is 18 in 6 years time, vintage Elderflower or Plum by then..his Daughter is 18 in 17 years time....I'll put it in the bike!!!! Rocket fuel..

I have been taking it easy on the alchohol front due to the amount of pain killers I am on.
Yesterday I broke and got totaly smashed on "Elephant trail" Cheap Red from the Co-op. I went to work this morning with a black looking tongue and a sore head.

Meet the original zx intake inspired fish smoker on it's first outing...

made for £1 (jumblesale BBQ an my grandmothers knackered oak wash stand)

The mackeral were (poor things) were swimming off Chesil beach the day before.

Considering I did several things wrong - Like I didn't air dry the fish after taking them out of the brine, chopped the wood too small so it burnt a bit too quick and hot, plus the wood was still a little "green". The taste of them was fantastic. Even my now quite dotty mother, loved them.

So next up is bacon and chicken... and a still for the hooch.

Sbrilliant, that! Love the digital timer on the front - very high tech.

I'm a jerky fan myself - try drying and smoking thin strips of beef, or better still venison. Lasts for weeks, tastes brill.
