The man who once said a supercharged Rocket III should not exist is now riding a supercharged and nitrous injected B-King. Has fatherhood changed you?

Worry not, it's just a phase he's going through........

Well, one thing at a time. The supercharger is just a slight distraction, because Suzuki originally showed the B-King concept bike fitted with one. I think Sean really wants to go to town on it eventually - for which he'll be using a big turbo, and all the assorted big-bhp cranks, rods, pistons and what-have-you that goes with it.
Once we finish with it as an SB long termer, Sean's got first dibs on buying it from Suzuki GB I believe. Then it'll really get stupid...

Not that I want to pick a fight. But it seems really stupid to me already. It's a monster of a bike in stock trim, looks like a joke and you're turning it into some kind of Streetfighters project in Superbike? Why didn't you get a decent bike? Or am I missing the point? Is it just me?

Well, I could have just got a sportsbike, and spent the season trying out tyres, pipes, and suspension mods to see if I could make it go better round the track.
But to be honest, that's already being covered pretty well elsewhere in the mag. I fancied the idea of carrying out some proper, involved, engineering changes to a bike, and I've always loved turbos and superchargers. So I'm trying to provide something a little different for you good readers, while getting involved in something I think is interesting and cool.
I've also somehow managed to get myself inveigled into some sort of drag racing arrangement with the bike once it's all done, which should be both hilarious and tragic in equal parts.
If it's not for you, I'm sorry. Just turn the page, or don't click on the link. There's plenty of other stuff to choose from!

Hey Al I see on the main page that you were looking for a way of tensioning the drive belt on the supercharger. You do have a couple of options. By using a guide roller off an MX bike chain you could make a pivoting mount and spring load it so it tensions the belt, of course you'll need to fuck around with springs to get the correct tension. Failing that same roller munted on a backplate that has a slot to allow you to tension it manually. BTW if it has two wheels and makes ya grin it belongs in the mag IMO.

Use the belt tensioning system from a Buell.

TBH Al, go for it...I'm not particularly into Turbo's and that sort of thing, but I will be the first to admit . it's gonna be interesting to see what happens!
If you've got the balls to do it, then you have my respect! Critics can critiscise all they want, you are there doing it,( There is a famous phrase by Roosevelt that covers this, but I can't remember what it is...DOH!)
Good luck...hope you go faster than a fast thing!

You fancied the idea of carrying out some proper involved engineering by the cunning expedient of getting other people to do it!!
Interesting and cool? Apparently the forum agrees, so, er, I'll get my coat...
