This isn't the very latest in tecnological advancement. Trucks have been using electronics to control the brakes for about 6 years now.
But putting it on a bike, that's quite an acheivment. On a 44tonne truck they work exceptionally well, in fact I don't think you can buy a new truck without EBS now. Ours are all EBS with ABS and even Anit-Roll technology.
I obviously can't compare a truck with a bike but, the main benefit on a truck is less effort for a greater pressure at the pads, so ultimately more control. It's kind of like the next step on from brake master cylinders.
Good luck to Honda, if they do put it into production I'd like to test one of their bikes with it fitted.

I've been wondering, can a tortoise swim?

Not according to 118118!! (can someone lend me a tortoise to see if they're right?)

I like that there's still a hydraulic element. At first I thought the lever might just operate a potentiometer, which sounded terrifying...

My interest has been stirred and would like to try it out altho I very much doubt I would want it on any of my bikes, Mainly I think because I am confident in my own braking control and trust my self to find the limits quickly and safely. The silly thing is that I wouldn't be adverse to TC which is sort of the same thing but opposite if you get my drift but I would rather go into an emergency situation without assisted bakes.
I have experienced assisted Brakes on one of the first newer shape Mondeos I owned a couple of years ago and they were blinding allowing me to outbrake most other vehicles going into dual carriageway roundabouts (occasionally)and they got me out of shit when I met a bus coming at me in a corner on crap infested B road the car slowed down and steered out of the way easily.
