Im quite surprised you didnt know it was restricted before you bought it. Which dealer did you get it from?

Yup, there's a speed limiter which cuts the revs to (IIRC) 10,500rpm in top, and 11,500 in 5th. You need a TRE to keep the bike in 'fourth' gear. But then the gear indicator doesn't work.
Or fit a Motec!
148bhp is a bit low. Mine had 163 stock at the wheel I seem to recall. How many miles on the clock?

Motec was a joke actually - it's the aftermarket ECU system used by top superbike race teams and 500bhp-plus turbocharged drag racers. It's a really flexible replacement engine management system, but costs thousands and thousands of pounds for a proper setup! You don't need anything that complex I think.
Dynos do read high or low, so maybe the 148bhp is right enough. It's only 10 per cent down on mine - which had done 3,000 miles.
Best TRE? Well, you can get one with a gear position indicator built-in, which overcomes the gear indicator problem. That may be the best thing. Apart from that, all they are is a resistor which replicates that of the gear position sensor in an appropriate gear.
