Pilot Road 2 VS Pilot Power
      #28709 - 01/07/2008 13:05

The previous two sets of tyres I have had on my '99 ZX6R were Pilot road 2. They seem to wear very well, grip is good and they are great in the wet. I am tempted to go for Pilot Power next as I am told they heat up quicker and would give a bit more dry grip. Has anyone had any experience of Pilot Power compared to Pilot road 2?

When i brought my Speed Triple it had Pilot Road 2's with a few mile left in them.

Put a set of Pilot Powers on about 1000 miles ago because i had them on a 600rr before and thought they were good.

I love em, lots of grip, plenty of feedback and they warm up very quickly. I find it easier to keep a line on them over the Roads and i feel more confident flicking the bike from one side to the other.

Give them a try im sure you wont be disappointed

Thanks Chez. What sort of miles did you get out of the Pilot power? I got 6k out of my rear pilot road 2. It was my first year of riding so I don't expect to get that sort of milage again!

No Problemo,

On my 600rr i got about 4500.

My triumph dealer reckons that a back tyre is only good for 3000 miles on a speed triple. Mines done 1000 so far and its in good shape but who know's

Try a 2CT front and a Road 2 rear and you get the best of both worlds!

The place i get my tyres advised against doing that. According to them Michelin say its a big no no.
