I've been looking at some of the older FireBlades, I think they are sexy mean looking machines and i really like them, theres one going in a nearby dealer for shy of 4grand.
Just wondered if they are worth the money, I know hondas are good but are there any glitches and things that crop up on the older blades? I think this ones a 1998' possible earlier.

They are fine altho I think gearboxes and finding decent tyres to fit the 16in front wheel can be a pain. For 4K you can do much better than a blade a 95 on GSXR750 would be a good alterative as would an 03-05 636 or an early model GSXR1000 all in that price range

yeah i've loked at some older kwaks and gixxers they are pretty cool too, they alot beefier than the new bikes, i like that. The thing is i am a very single minded person..... I take it they changed the front wheel diametre in later models on the blade? what the earliest year they changed them up? to make life easier if tyre replacement come round.
otherwise the bikes are sound. thats good.

They went to 17" from 2000 onwards, that's the RRY which was also a 929. I've just got one as a track bike and the front wheel size was one of my considerations for getting a later one. I didn't want to restrict my choice of rubber, although how restricted that choice is in reality I have no idea.

I,ve got a 98 rrw blade, ive had it for 18 months, and havent had any trouble at all. looks the business as you say, sounds awsome, has a good pillion seat for my mrs compared to newer blades, and it,s more than quick enough for me. I,d reccomend one mate!!
