Bike Storage Solution.....?
      #29745 - 21/07/2008 15:55

Hi,

I remember a while ago seeing a bike storage shed/garage in the mag, but I can't seem to find it again. I've been searching (this site, my old copies, Google, etc) to get more info, so I'm hoping someone will either remember what I'm about to ask or know what I'm talking about (well, there's always hope...!)

From what I remember it was a metal-sided mini garage type of a thingameewhatsit, you could roll the front tyre onto a slide-out floor/bracket, get off and then push the bike the rest of the way. Getting it (the bike) back out again was pretty much the reverse, but you would have to press some sort of release to allow you to remove it from the holding mechanism. Size-wise it appeared to be around 3' wide, prolly about 7' long and I guess 6'-ish tall.

I'm asking as I want to get one of them (you wouldn't have guessed would you) as I'm going to be moving house and up the biking ladder (from my Fazer 6 to something along the lines of a GSXR 750) and I don't want that on display....

I can't remember whether it was something from the main part of the mag, or whether it was the advertising at the back, but if anyone knows enough for me to get more info on it.........................

Many thanks in advance...

You need the bike barn my friend. They are here at www.thebikebarn.net/

I've got a feeling that someone like Motrax has done a copy, but I'm happy with the barn. Highly recommended.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me, I'd seen that bike-tent type thing (it was recently reviewed in the mag) but it isn't what I was looking for.

The one I was thinking of was a metal-sided shelter, with a door/doors to the front...

I've been reading the mag since I got my [proper] bike (about 4 years ago) and have no intention of dropping off the radar - unless the radar in question is checking speed..........

Cheers,

The first one JockR1 linked was the one that I'd seen, and was trying to explain - thanking you muchly for that Jock.

I'll have a good perusal at both of the sites and let you know which I ended up going for....

I had some fun lastnight on my way home - was playing with a Blackbird........ Much fun...

Mornin' Shiny.

So you've got the blue/silver colour? Or just the plain blue?

But that brown one is sooooo much nicer.......

Morning XX.

I've just finished a 12 hour night shift, and I'm having a bottle or 3 of beer before I go to bed.

The Brown one..was a cunning plan of much cunningness...............the inventor of the colour scheme was the offspring of a Japanese Sniper! Enter the Digital age of speed cameras..if you can't see it, you can't hit it....no tickets!

Mine's Blue and Silver on a W plate, unrestricted, bog standard apart from the R&G Kit fitted to it.

Nah, mixing it up for a few miles, then hit some traffic where we were both filtering, and I left him for dust...

I got caught at some lights at a M-way slip-road junction, we both were going to the same town, and he was asking what size engine I had....... He seemed somewhat surprised to hear it's a 6......

Nice. It's not all about out and out speed. the 'Bird is a nice bike...Nearly as nice as the 'Busa..

But the 'Bird is a bit fat and Ugly...like the thing you pull at 2am pissed up in a club trying to decide on a shag or a Kebab.

Hi,

I've done some browsing, and I'm most likely to be getting one from MotoSafe - just down to whether it's the 250 or 250W...

Looks like a pretty solid setup. Add a ground anchor inside and you'll be pretty much impregnable I suppose...
Let us know how it goes!

First I have to wait for completion on the house, then I can start getting it and put it together...

Hi, just thought I'd update you all...

We get the keys to the new house on Friday (05 SEP 08) and just went to order it only to find that they've put the prices up, so instead of paying around £800 for the one I was going to get, it is now priced at around £1100....!!!
