Anyone going to the track day at Cadwell this Thursday (18th)? Looks like the weather is going to be good. I'm hoping my 'blade is going to go okay.
Since Snetterton last month I've rebuilt the gearbox with a couple of new cogs and bushes, which is quite an achievement for a novice mechanic, but a great learning exercise, not to mention the money saved, £200ish as opposed to loads of lolly for a dealer to do it. I've also put on a Sprint Pro Race steering damper so it's not trying to rotate me round the headstock at every bump, a Power Commander to get the best out of the exhaust system, (you gotta love Ebay) and put the gearing back to what it was when I bought it 15/44.
I've run it up to a fair pace for a 30 min 'shake down' at my localish, disused and rather bumpy runway so I'm fairly confident it's mechanically sound. Now if I could just make the rider faster..........

Thanks both, I'm really looking forward to it. Hope you get on yours okay chappers.
I booked up about 6 weeks in advance but then had my mechanical at Snett and been busting a gut to get the bike sorted ever since.
Moral of the story, wait till one track day's out of the way before booking the next. Live and learn hey?!

If only the weather was like this on my track days! I have been on 2 earlier this year and rained both days. Not all day but it rained.

I hope you had a good day at Cadwell FBB.
It's been a couple of years since I last did a trackday there. Long overdue another visit. Ah well, hopefully next Spring.

Had a fantastic day thanks, the weather was great, and got a load of good pics.
Only downside was some gremlins, bike cuts out at about 9500 rpm so I had to stay below that and it was fine.... until.. second from last session when it was cutting in and out all the time until it died completely. I managed from the mountain to the start/finish and then watched the rest of the session from there.
At least I have something to keep me busy through the winter months... fixing it.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your day.
Sorry to hear about the bike gremlins. Good luck with getting the Blade sorted for next year.

Nice photos. Nice bike.
You obviously ain't the superstitous type judging by your race plate.
I've gotta get up to Cadwell early next year for a trackday. Seeing those pics reminded just what a gas the mountain is.

Thanks FJ. Nope, most definitely not superstitious, put it on there hoping it might keep a few of the superstitious types away from me.
As I said to someone who thought I was crazy having 13 on there, I may well chuck it down the track, but it'll be because I'm riding like a knob, not 'cos there's a 13 on the bike.
I'll definitely be going back as soon as I can and when the sun is shining.

Stick a Black Cat on it as well....No superstiscious fucker will pass you then...
I had a Black cat walk in front of the car in work......My mate was really annoyed that I reversed 50 metres back to the next junction to turn around......
I'm not a superstiscious bloke myself.......Not much..

I can be a bit odd but only where bikes are concerned to the point yesterday I had throw myself to the ground whilst wearing my new leathers.

You need to be careful where you do that, anyone seeing you may call the men in white coats.
