looking to upgrade the bulbs on the headlamps without having too alter the wiring. looking for a bulb that is much brighter
and whiter, anyone recommend one?

Xenon bulbs are claimed to be over 50% brighter and the regular wattage are a direct replacement for standard ones.
They cost about 3x as much as standard and are in my view worth it.
There are also blue versions - they give a distinctly blue light hue of light - which is meant to mimic daylight and are marked for off road track use. Personally I don't like them, some how more glarey and I hate looking at them on other vehicles-seems to ruin what is left of your night vision.
