Breather Filter
      #37866 - 04/01/2009 17:37

I have a 2000 Bandit 1200 cc and am wondering if fitting a breather filter will make any significant improvement to performance.

Advice (clean) welcome.

Yep, a crankcase breather.

Are there any benefits in ftting one ? Met a Bandit nut at a garage yesterday who swore it would be good to fit one.

Not unless the STD breather causes the crankcases to build up pressure.
The reason behind crankcase breathers is to allow the pressure built up buy the pistons and other engine internals to vent can't see how it can improve power unless there is a problem with the STD one or you have fitted dinner-plate size pistons or increased the rev limit.
That's my take on it I could be wrong though.
