zx6r gear problem

HELP i own a zx6r 600 j1 lovely bike but ,recently after riding so smoothly my gears have decided to play up. i can't get 1st 2nd or 3rd. i have'nt had any noise or rattles come from there it simply just happened it goes into 4th 5th and 6th no problems. all advice would be much welcome many thanks

I know it sounds silly but have you checked the clutch cable/push rod adjustment?
Also what year bike is it?

Gearbox problems on ZX6Rs are not totaly unheard of including the year 2000 J1 but they're pretty rare. This sounds more like a clutch issue to me like Chappers says. Chain adjustment makes a difference too so check that.
