K&N air filter on 05 model (5sl) R6
      #37977 - 09/01/2009 16:32

Hi Guys
Im in need of some advice. The damn thing does'nt want to play/maybe its the nobber trying to fit it.Ive been supplied part number YA-6001 by an ebay dealer which is suppose to fit according to K&N,i've removed oil rings and done the cut the instructions say but i just cant get it to seat right to the air box base, its as if it is just slightly to big as the general shape looks right.I can just squeeze the air box lid onto it but this feels as if it should be easier and as its not sitting on the base right the screws wont fasten anyway(to short), please HELP its driving me mad, ive not had this issue with other bikes,
many thanks
Tom..

Have you got it upside down? failing that it may be wrong K&N filters normally drop in no problem.

With any luck someone who's had that model will be able to help, without seeing it there's nothing I can really suggest sorry.

Hi Guys,
Just letting you know i sorted the air filter,on the instructions it said remove the locator partion, turns out this is more of a thick plastic gasket following the perimeter of the airbox base, one small slotted screwdriver later and above freezing temperture and presto ,job done, experiance,a wonderful thing!!
regards
Tom
