Does anyone know how much it would cost to insure your own bike incase you drop it - and what companies offer this insurence if any?
I was thinking of renting a bike (£250 with no drop excess) but if I could get mine insured for £100 I would take my own .... maybe ...

Don't worry about trackday insurance.
In my opinion it isn't worth the money. The chances of you crashing on track are far slimmer than on the road and as long as you warm your tyres you should be fine.
If you're really that worried you're better off renting a bike for the day. At least it's already track prepped.
