Couple of questions:
Just fitted a Beowulf Warrior can to my B12, sounds the Dogs. Been considering changing the standard air filter now to a K&N. Is it worth the ekstra dosh?
Heard loads of different views on rejetting bikes with Dyno kits. Anyone got any experience with a B12 and Dynojet kits???

I wouldn't worry about the filter unless you don't want to fit a new one every year the stocker should be fine. I've heard confilicting reports re dynojet kits best bet is to go to a reputable tuner and have the bike set up on a dyno, although I'm guessing with just a can you won't need to bother.

I have got a 1216 tuned bandit, i fitted a stage 3 dyno kit myself, and although it run ok, it wasn't good, a couple of hours on a dyno and the carbs balanced and its spot on, power everywhere, as above mate, if you are just fitting a can and you are happy with that, don't mess about, if you want more, then buy the kit and filter and fit it yourself, but budget for a couple of hours dyno time cause you will never get it running as well as it can do without it.

Thanx guys...have also heard that Dyno Jets can be tricky buggers to get running sweet. sounds like I should save the dosh for something else......

As long as your carbs are ok, a decent dyno house will have not trouble setting it up, they also come with instructions on how to fit, and get it running there or there abouts, don't be put of mate, My old b12 had a can on it, k&n filter, dyno kit and ignition advancer and was making just over 125bhp, which isn't bad for a standardish b12.

OK!! sounds cool, 125bhp, nice. Am still interested in getting the bike sorted. Was also looking at the ignition advancer and have also thought about a new front sprocket with a 13 teeth instead of 14, for a little extra acceleration...... Thanks for your post

I would think twice about a 13 tooth front sprocket, unless you want to wheelie everywhere, my old b12 had a 14t and it wheelied off the throttle no problem in first and second, with a 13t if you do any motorway riding, or fast lane riding you will always be looking for a another gear, cause it will be revving its tits off.

Thats true.... Maybe not a good idea after all. Like the idea of an ignition advancer, may go for that along with the K&N and Dyno. Should be more than enough power then....

I have a 96 Bandit 12 with a Micron can individual K&N filters and 5 degree ignition advancer and 14 tooth front cog, I fitted the dynojet kit myself and went with one setting above middle setting on the needles, the 155 main jets as were better as the 165's made the low range fluffy, it now runs great. but I am having it set up on a dyno just to get it spot on. This is the second Bandit 12 I have done this too and the last one made 126 BHP and would launch the front wheel in first and second of the throttle. I might get the head gas flowed next just for a few extra ponnies.
