      #39910 - 12/03/2009 13:50

Hi everyone, i am a student at University and I am currently in the process of doing a dissertation on motorcycle Road safety in the UK. Would it be possible if you could fill in this small questionnaire for me? it would help tremendously. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I have just completed your survey, have to say question 11 is rather loaded and clumbsy.

The question is (below in italic): are motorcycles or Motorcyclists are too dangerous, this in itself is an assertion, not a neutral question.

Added to which you say in the "question" too dangerous, but the possible answers do not allow for an answer that motorcycles and motorcycles are not too dangerous.
You only allow that motorcycles are not dangerous-ie that they are not dangerous at all.

Questions phrased like this will skew results from people filling in the survey as they lead the answer. In this case if I wish to say that mc's are not too dangerous, I am only allowed to say that they are not dangerous at all-which is an over statement, led by your Q+A.

Apart from being a bit more careful in the writing, you should try and have check questions that afirm results in other parts of the survey to weed out poorly considered or contradictory answers. That is, of course if you're trying to gain genuine opinions and are not looking to create a specific result from the get go.

11. Do you believe motorcycles or Motorcyclists are too dangerous for the roads in the UK?

Do you believe motorcycles or Motorcyclists are too dangerous for the roads in the UK?
They are both dangerous
Motorcycles ARE, Motorcyclists ARE NOT
Motorcycle ARE NOT, Motorcyclists ARE
The are both NOT dangerous

Looks like a very simplistic and badly thought out questionnaire to me.
What is your angle?

I was going to fill it out in fact I did mostly till I stopped, I'm afraid I'm with Makka whats your agenda sorry mate but all my bikes have been road legal and my income is none of your business. Furthermore I didn't like the tone of some of your questions.

That's odd, I am sure the intro thread has changed. I thought it said something about bike safety partnership before, not a student project.

Mmmm, must stop cooking in aluminium pans. I am obviously going mad. Cannot wait to go out on my illegal, dangerous bike for another death run, yesterday I managed to club 20 baby seals to death before I was killed.

But you are probably right, elephant brain.
It's some bastard trying to get us to incriminate ourselves.

I'm with MAKKA on this...it does seem as though some of the questions are loaded , and what I do for a living has got bugger all to do with the fact I ride a motorcycle...!!

Sort the questions out so they can be answered accurately and factually and I'll gladly fill in your questionarre.........until then you got no chance..

Sorry-the questions are too open ended and answers are to open to different interpretations.
However well intended you need to change the questions as the others have said.
PS Im 96, I earn 300,000 a month and race in Superstock on a bog standard not road legal KTMRsv 1000

Would you be kind enough to justify the reasoning behind some of the questions stated. As others have mentioned and raised concerns over the manner in which you have phrased the questions. I would be only too happy to fill your questionnaire were it not for what appears to be a lack of understanding that, some of the questions are very open to interpretation.
Also, how do we know you really are student?

I feel a bit sheepish asking, but has anyone got any tips on reloading a rocket launcher at over 120 mph? I am having a bit of trouble.

Mind you, I am finding the Demon Tweaks wheel scythes are working a treat.

NO,NO,NO....ALL WRONG.....
You get TWIN GPMG's mounted where the air intakes are, with an electric push button trigger near to where the headlight button is....

Just be careful when you flash another biker to warn him of plod up the road....

Feel free to FLASH nova & corsa's driven by 18 year old knobheads......had one try to overtake me today...let him draw level with me ......then fucked off into the sunset at Mach 10......
