A sobering thought for the star of the riding season
      #39980 - 15/03/2009 19:58

I know most of us can't wait to get out there and enjoy our bike as I and many others did today. After I got back today we had a call from Angela's Mum and Dad asking if I had got back OK, apparently on a B road that I occasionally use a biker had been overtaking cars ON SOME CORNERS and met with a Transit head on, sadly he died instantly.
Give yourselves time to build up and get your eye back in and remeber better to wait than never to get home, somewhere someone is mourning the loss of a loved one, don't let it be your's.
Sorry I didn't come over FJ but we spent most of the morning with No2 daughter who was running in the Hastings kids marathon.

Don't be so sure Chappers.
They are probably glad to finally get rid of the idiot.
Natural selection again.
Overtaking on corners has nothing to do with being rusty.

But I agree with the rest of the post of course.

I agree with Makka here.....overtaking in a bend/corner is asking for trouble, unless your 100% sure that nothing is coming the other way...

Still, someone has lost a son/husband/father because of a moment of stupidity.....natural selection....bad descision.......

Not good..

It was fucking stupid but the poor C**t paid for his mistake.

Useful reminder, chappers, especially as the weather seems to be picking up and more riders seem to be coming out of hibernation.

Loads of bikes around today. After a slow start this morning we ended up with about 15 riders stopping by the station, many out for the first time since last year. One guy called Joe turned up on the cleanest 998 I've ever seen. I gotta admit it was an absolutely fukkin' gorgeous machine.

Yeah, it was one of those days today when it was good to be at work doing the drop-in but it would have been even better to be off-duty and out and about on my bike.

I hope your daughter enjoyed doing the marathon. A couple of guys from the station were running it today. As for me, I'm more of a roll-up and cup of tea type person.
