timing retarder fitting probs on gsxr 750 k7
      #40354 - 23/03/2009 21:27

ive recently bought a healtech timing retarder for the 750 but the fitting instructions seem to be wrong.. in the instructions it says that it has to wire into the ecu bottom row 6 wires in if i remember right ,but when i do this the bike fails to fire up,when i take the wire off again the bikes fine so its either a mistake or im doing something daft..rest of the installation was pretty easy enough just this one wire that seems to be wrong..have tried emailing them with no answer for 2 weeks...... anyone any ideas ?? cheers

Welcome to the Forum.
Sorry don't have an answer at the mo, but a couple of folk on here fitted them and there is a fairly long tech or problem thread on here about them... somewhere

Why didn't you buy the Ivans one it plugs straight in.
I'm afraid I can't help with the wiring you might get more joy at gixer junkies.

Just looked at the X-TRE Power Box HealTech Timing Retard Eliminator, that one is new and does not disable the gear indicator-which is good news-some of the claimed power gains sound exaggerated. Not the same as the Ivans.

Cannot find a wiring diagram, but looks like it too is not totally plug-in and play either.

yeah thats the 1..wanted to keep the gear indicator so this was the best one i could find ,i thought.. the rest of it was pretty just plug in and go apart from this one wire goin into the ecu thats obviously wrong, dont want to go spliceing every wire on the ecu for obvious reasons..was hoping someone would have came across this before now..cheers

Check the instructions on the website.
They say TOP row 6 in, OR Black wire with thin green stripe.

Under Products and Downloads.
