Hi has anyone used ACTIV8 the universal friction reducer in there bike. I'm thinking of putting it in my Honda CBR600f sport. Has anyone got some advice. Cheers Stevie.

Don't think I'd fancy putting it in my bike.

I also don't think it would make much difference to the performance or maintainence of a road bike.

On their site I can see no mention of it being safe to use with a wet clutch. I know it says it's are "widely used" in motorcycles and cars, but I'd be worried about it making the clutch slip.

Personally I think the additives are a waste of money. Instead of spending money on that just change your oil more often if you're that worried about it.

EDIT-

£30 for 250ml. You can just do another oil change for that money.

All these friction reducers are total bollox IMO, allow the engine to warm up before applying heavy loads(thrashing)use decent oil fully or part synth changed at regular intervals will do as good if not better a job, furthermore some "friction reducers" rely on a slightly corrosive process to coat moving parts which can I believe cause internal corrosion if the engine is left standing idle saying that I have used ZX1 in the odd Turbo diesel I've owned fuck knows if it did any good, although in the last vehicle it was used in the turbo when pop at 140,000miles so now I just change the oil and filter regularly.

I tried it once a year or so ago and what a complete waste of money. You're better off using a good oil and servicing your bike regularly. Use engine flush to clear the crap out when doing oil changes - now that works. But this you really wouldn't notice the difference. Believe me you don't need it!
