It's got a fly by wire throttle could be miscalibrated sensor or could be to stop hamfisted use of throttle resulting in looped bike, didn't see any of the the R1 cup bikes suffering.
Yanks are very good at latching on to odd glitches and making a mountain out of a mole hill. With any luck Chip will be aqlong soon to dispel the bullshit and give us some facts.

In the US Yamaha will replace the CEM if the owner complains about any hesitation. We haven't had anybody complain(save one guy who tried to blame his ham fisted wheelie crash on it) so none have been replaced. Must be something to it if Yam will replace with almost no questions asked. If I have time tomorrow I'll scan the tech bulletin and post it.

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5000-foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn downhill ess-turn is quite another

Right now we have a large warehouse full of Yamaha Rhino's(side by side ATVs) that we can't sell because of drunk rednecks who manage to hurt/kill themselves doing stupid things and ambulance chasing lawers have a HUGE lawsuit against Yamaha and dealers, and an almost equaly large storage unit with 50-80cc bikes and ATVs that are currently unsellable because of lead content. Another brilliant lawsuit because the kids could lick/chew on bike parts that may contain lead We're barely hanging on as it is and it gets worse every day. God bless the USA Ok, end rant

Here's the service bulletin. When you call Yamaha they send out a new CEM.

I felt that hesitation *over here* when I took the 07 R1 out for a test. It felt like the CPU was having to think too much and doing very little.
That is the main reason why I opted for a GSXR in the end. American ones seem to suffer what I felt far more.
