I got about an hour of track time on the new R1 at Barber Motorsports Park yesterday, and I have to say it really rocks The power is so smooth and linear it is really deceiving because it doesn't have the top end punch of my '06, but the front tire hoisting a foot off the ground on every corner exit told a different story. It really is like riding a very high revving twin, and the sound is absolutely intoxicating I didn't have a lap timer to compare my lap times to my '06, but I feel it would be very easy shave a lot of time with the amount of power you can confidently put down. Great job Yamaha

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5000-foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn downhill ess-turn is quite another
