Just booked for another day at my local, my first visit this year strangely.
It's the day after the BSB meeting so I expect some of the front runners will be hanging around to learn my lines.
Anyone else going?

Er.... yeah no problem, how slow do you want to go? I've got slow pretty much tied up
Seriously I'm no expert at all. I probably sit in the low to mid of the fast group. I used to find Corams the hardest corner to get right but after being given a tip by one of the instructors have got that pretty much sorted. Or at least I've stopped threep'ny bitting it.
I'm really looking forward to it this time 'cos the GP Racers I've got on are far, far better than the Avons I've had in the past. Hopefully I'll get through Sear corner without the usual slides and drama. Be better for my heart rate and underpants anyway.
Maybe see you there then?

I'm hoping the weather's good, it's the day after BSB as well.
I've just put new pads in the 'blade's front brakes and on my er... 'private' road run it's gone from okay stopping to like hitting a brick wall and that's when they're cold.
Looking forward to testing them for real. Give us a shout, can't miss me.... I wobble round on a red blade with number '13' on it.
In fact here's a tip as well.... me on a little known 'fast' line through the esses.....
Watch out for the really fast BSB boys using that one on Sunday, they're bound to steal my lines, the cheating bastards.

There's another line that I was fond of at Snett, at the end of the back straight get it right and you can rejoin just after the bomb hole, to make the best use of it don't brake at either the 150 or 100 yard markers but instead wait untill the marshalls start running in the opposite direction. I think they even tarmacked it in my honour.

Yeah I've used that piece of tarmac a couple of times myself. I don't know who has right of way at the end though. There's no 'give way' or 'Stop' sign.... bit of a grey area that needs clarification I think.

If i was a kid i would be saying "are we there yet ?","are we there yet ?","are we there yet ?","are we there yet ?" . My other discs came today for my wet wheels so if its to be rain so be it although the circuit guide doesnt compliment a wet Snetterton but what the hell its an adventure.

I ride like it's wet anyway so it won't make much difference to me.
Another set of wheels is on my list of "must get" but they don't come up too often on ebay, unless anyone knows if the later blade wheels fit. Mine's a 2000 RRY which was the first year of the 17" front.

No, no, I've had words and arranged dry weather.
Watching BSB today has got me well revved up for it, bike's loaded gear's ready and I'm itching to get going.

Yeah, good to have met you RevRun. I hope you got home without any more drama's of the puncture kind.
I'll have to get down to your stomping ground at Brands in the near future. Maybe get a few more of the forumites down there.
I really enjoyed yesterday, I don't know whether it's the speed thing at Snetterton but I always ache more after a day there than anywhere else I've been, which is only Donigton and Cadwell admittedly. I feel like I've got lead weights strapped to my thighs this morning.
I got some good on board footage from that camera although it had stopped working by the last lap of the session before lunch which is annoying 'cos that was my fastest lap of the day. I was hoping I'd see where I was making the time I'm normally missing.

No more drama's thank god. I must admit i have not had much bad luck in the past at trackdays so it was well overdue this is how it went WARNING IT'S A LONG STORY. Had a great journey up there only to find when i got out of the van i had a puncture and it had only just made it there "easy fix fit spare". Went to sign on to find that they had put me in Novice and not the group i had booked so thought ok sort it out later after the sighting laps. Qued for 20 minutes at the sound test to be told "closed until after the briefing come back later" then told we could do the sighting laps then sound test so was ok,just wasted 20 minutes. Got out on track then some tit binned it on one of the three sighting laps so all back into pit lane.Igot back out then after 1 lap i see the cheq flag so i came back in to find the rest stayed out so i rode down to the front ask what was going on "your the only one that took any notice" i was told. 2nd Session at last started to find my way around building speed with each lap then at the right hander of the Esses the rear came right round on me and again at the bomb hole YEP FECKIN PUNCTURE but was lucky to stay on the bike. Focused kindly bent me over for a new tyre,i left the wheel with them for it to be fitted.I returned half hour later to find it not done and the tyre fitter fitting panels to a hire bike rather then doing my tyre that they shafted me for,I had a polite word and it was then fitted quickly. I spoke to the OP's manager regarding the group i was in and was moved up without any problems. 3rd Session Inters loads better got 7 seconds straight off my time but traffic was still a big problem at the bends and found some were slower then a third of the Novice group. Whilst sat in the garage waiting for the fourth session my rear warmer started to catch fire FFS " Some may of gone home at this point ". No problem i just took it easy until i had got some heat in them.I started to enjoy myself finaly and got some better lap's in,tailing another R1 that knew his way round the place at a better pace so i stuck with him to pick up what info i could. Then he binned it in front of me i managed to miss him and he was ok but again the confidence was at a low as in the morning with the tyre thing. Although it sounds i had a shit time i loved the place and will return and i hope with luck on my side.Best bit of the day was seeing 183 on the speedo,i know its out to do with gearing but as nothing came past each time i knew it was quick. Scary bit a few things most of all getting cramp in my right hand and not being able to pull the brake properly at the end of the straight which was ok for a fast enry into the left hander . It was good to meet up with FBB who may i add was quick, quick, quick and hope to see him soon at my local or back up at Snetterton.I may even be able to get me old mate Dave out and a few others next time for a meet up.
