I serviced my sv 1000s at the weekend. well i did the oil, filter and spark plugs, I did it myself as there is a resession on don't you know. And now my bike doesn't Bang on the overrun and the throttle is alot more responsive. is this because the spark plugs i put in NGK CR8K are different from the ones i took out NGK iridium, or was it the breather pipe that comes off the top off the head next too the sparkplug that wasn't connected too the little box thing on the airbox if anyone knows could someone explain as i like to learn new things?

I couldn't tell you why, aside from the fact that the new plugs may mean that it's burning more completely so no unburnt fuel is going into the exhaust pipe now.
You've improved the bike, why are you moaning?

The improvement is almost certainly due to the reconnection of the breather;- the small amout of additional air drawn through the open stub on the airbox, together with the lack of closing to the cambox, would be enough to make the mixture too lean, especially on a closed throttle. I expect the tickover is also more stable now.

To be honest i don't really notice it on tickover except for the fact it sounds like its got a deeper rumble through the pipes the throttle response is where i notice it more before it was like it had a huge turbo lag when it ain't got a turbo. thanks for the help manx
