Has anyone had a problem with rust inside the tank of their bike? Mine is badly clogged up and in a poor way. I've contacted Suzuki but they don't want to know/help. The bike isn't 3 years old yet.

If you stand a bike up over winter with anything less than brim full petrol the condensation that forms will cause the corrosion. I had a similar problem with a 999 a couple of years ago. I reseached different rust treatments for tanks I'd heard of Petseal and used it perviously but eard it wasn't the best I settled on a product called POR15 http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?p...mp;FrostSubcat= it's 3 stage degreaser, Acid Etch, and Epoxy coating I sorted it by first off stripping all the ancillaries off the tank then filling it with Clean stones and sealing all the orifices with Duck tape then vigorously shaking it to remove the loose rust. When I did that I washed ALL the crap out with petrol then treated it with POR15 after that it was a case of replacing the Fuel filter and crossing my fingers that the fuel pump wasn't fucked, thankfully it was fine. I recommend POR15 because it's the most complete and thorough treatment. If not prepared correctly some of these tank coating kit will peel off causing just as much if not more trouble you have to get the rust out though. HTH. Or alternativley get a second hand tank froma breakers and next time the bike is laid up either fill it brim full or add (a little) oil to the petrol a swill it around.
The company:- http://www.por15.com/

+1 to what Chappers has said really, if you're going to leave your bike sat for ages you need to brim the tank....
