I'm looking to change the stock tyres on my Daytona 675 and I'm after some advice. I'm looking at either the Diablo Corsa's or the Pilot Power 2CT's. I've heard very good things about both and was beginning to lean towards the Michelins. But today I read a review where there was talk of the Michelin's having less operating range and the need for the tyre pressures to be very accurate. The guy went on to say that the 2CT's heat up well and give loads of grip until they let go. Apparently there is very little progression in their loss of grip and the feedback isn't as good as the Pirelli's?? If anyone has had experience of both tyres I'd be grateful of any feedback.

I tried the Pirelli's and liked them. I'm probably not the best person to offer advice as I'm biased against Michelins although I've heard good things about them, although I remeber Michelins of old offering masses of grip then letting go without warning that was the mid to late 90s and I've heard that they are very very good now. read the SB tyre test on Zino.

I use Maxxis tyres on my cbr600 and rate them better than ANY other tyre. the new soft compound sport tyres from maxxis are even better and they are bloody cheap too at only about £70 each.
"Two" bike magasine recommends them as "one of the best tyres ever made"
They warm up in half the time and have better grip.
Personally I wont have anything else on my bikes. I got 12,000 miles out of my rear tyre last year and it still gripped like a "good un"

Very little difference between the two tyres to be honest.
I had the non-2CT Pilot Powers on my ZX6R then changed to Corsa IIIs and all I can really say is that the Corsa IIIs warm up more quickly.
On the road I'm not pushing hard enough to notice the last little bit of grip from them.

I have 2 CTs on my zx10-r. I find them very good but have never used the corsas so can't do a direct comparison.
I have experienced Michelins letting go with no warning although it was several years ago now, when macadams were the order of the day.
The rear just let go no warning nothing, about 0.5 seconds after my avatar picture was taken.
First warning I had was getting out of the ditch and hedgerow.

Give the 'power 2CTs a try. I have been very, very impressed by them. When thy're fucked they'll be replaced with the same again, probably the first time i've ever done that. I couldn't ask for any more from them performance wise and think the rear has really lasted well. I've always sworn by pirellis but think my bike really suits the michelins. 10/10
The pilot ROAD 2CTs were outstanding through the autumn and winter and really deal with the wet well, again I'd recommend them highly to anyone doing a bit of high mileage on the road.

I might well just give the Michelins a go. From what I've read, some people love em, some people hate them, as is often the way with these things. I'm sure within the operating range I'll place them in, they'll be a very good tyre. I'm not someone looking to squeeze the very last bit of grip from a tyre, but to have the peace of mind of it being there if I need it.

i'm going back to pp 2ct, tried metz sportecs and they have only lasted just 3 weeks, they slip on anything remotely wet, unlike the pilots where i had oooodles of confidence in heavy rain! they last for miles also.
