New GPR end cans for BMW F800 R

Italian firm GPR releases slip-on end can to cut weight, boost power on BMW's F800 R roadster ... Scroll down for the full story
We enjoyed our time with BMW's F800 R roadster last year - its light weight, high-tech design and punchy parallel-twin engine floated our boat. But we always like to have less weight and more power from a bike, so a slip-on end can seems like a good plan. We tried BMW's own Akrapovic can, which sounded and looked good, and lost a stack of weight, but couldn't improve much on the stock can for power.
And here's another option to try. Italian outfit GPR has produced this 'Powercone' can, which is £150 cheaper than the BMW/Akrapovic part at £375, cuts 2.5kg in weight, and boosts power at 6,500rpm by 2.5bhp. It looks pretty smart too.
We asked a GPR spokesman if it had a removable dB killing baffle. He told us:
"It has a removable baffle and a removable db killer. It is also removable from the box. We can also remove money from your bank account. (Warning-your motorcycle may go down as well as up – our extremities are at risk.) When riding, always use your motorcycle."
So there you have it. More info on the GPR Powercone from www.motolegends.com
