Ducati 1098/1198/848 EVR slipper clutch

If you own a Ducati 1098 or 1198, you'll probably be used to steep price tags. So the £1200 tariff on this slipper clutch may not put you off. It's a hefty price, but the product is heavy on spec, construction and design.

Produced by Italian firm EVR, it uses a totally novel, patented system of operation. Rather than the ball bearings and ramps of conventional slipper clutches, the EVR design uses a hardened steel central cam drum, that runs on hard steel roller bearings in the pressure plate. So these hardened steel parts perform the anti-hop function, rather than comparatively soft alloy components, reducing wear and improving operation.

The outer plate is clever too - machined 'blades' pump air through the plate pack on the (dry) clutch, reducing wear and fade.
