Jeremy McWilliams was unbowed after 'only' finishing seventh in the Monza GSX-R Cup. But there's a good story behind that result...
McWilliams had had his arm twisted by Racedays superbike school (who he instructs for) to take part and Team Racedays thought it had a banker in the McWill. Surely he'd bring the Racedays squad some fortune and glory in the Gixxer cup! But no, it was not to be!
In the most blatant form of crowd manipulation ever, Pirovano arranged for 37,000 local Tifosi to block yer maun's return from his airconditioned live coffee break with Randy and Jonathan Green. Arriving late at the gate the McWill was denied entrance by a sniggering Milanese lapdog and had to start from the back of the GSX-R Cup grid.
Jeremy managed to get a tow off the rapidly improving Racedays Grant Molloy (who finished an excellent 15th) and brought the 750 home in 7th, from dead last. Rumour has it JMW may return to the cup at a circuit he actually knows and kick some ass.
Monza was described thus: two bends, a couple of chicanes and some straight bits. Unanimously voted most difficult track to get a fast lap.
