KTM RC8 Day
August 21, 2008 - Jon Pearson
Ahead of this weekend's British Superbike round at Cadwell Park, KTM UK took over the Lincolnshire circuit as a thankyou to it's RC8-customers ... Scroll down for the full story
Not a grand affair by any means but the bold few who put down deposits on the KTM RC8 before it arrived in the UK at the start of 2008 helped turn Cadwell Park orange for the day yesterday (Wednesday 20th).
KTM UK and Focused Events hosted the day ahead of this weekend's British Superbike round at Cadwell as a kind of pay back for the enthusiasm and loyalty of the RC8 customers. More KTM-only days in conjuction with Focused Events are rumored so keep your eyes peeled at KTM dealers and on the KTM UK website
Generally speaking the RC8 owners were "well-chuffed" with their bikes, although some reported having teething troubles with the new model.
Highlight of the day was KTM's Richard Ellis crashing a spanking RC8 in the first session. Giddy at the idea of getting on track (they don't get out much these marketing types) he forgot to fill the bike with fuel, which then starved in a corner and put him on the wet grass and shortly afterwards on his arse.
