Top Italian tube-sters Leo Vince release full race pipe for Yamaha's natty YZF-125R sporty tiddler ... Scroll down for the full story
Just because you're on a 125 doesn't mean you're unconcerned with good looks, sweet-sounds and weight saving. Quite the reverse, in fact. So you'll be pleased to hear that high-quality exhaust firm Leo Vince has released a full system for Yamaha's new YZF-R125. The basics are contained in a press release from UK importer Moto GB. Here are the salient parts:
The system runs a tuned header pipe from the engine, into a small expansion box, then connects to the superslim SBK-GP rear silencer. With attention to detail like deburring and polishing of welds, plus the streamlined shape of the underbelly box, with pipework attached with race springs for flexibilty - this exhaust maximises the power and torque gains for this small 125 engine.
Big weight savings: over 65% weight reduction over the 6.1kg stock system - LeoVince weighs in at a lowly 2.11kg!
The SBK-GP rear silencer has a special shot-peened effect, easy clean finish, and the can is a very short & stubby 37cms in length - approx half the size of the stock silencer, and 100mm shorter. Supplied with carbon fibre support bracket and full mounting kit.
'E' approved and road legal, with removable db baffle - a superb throaty sound!
The system costs £346.95. Contact: 0845 094 1934, sales@moto.gb.com or click on www.moto.gb.com
There's not too much else to add. If you do pick one up, let us know how you get on with it!
