Proper distributor Fowlers takes on Spyke riding kit ... Scroll down for the full story

Spyke Blaster leather suit

We like Spyke. The Italian outfit is a little smaller than the likes of Spidi and a lot smaller than Alpinestars or Dainese. But it's still put out some great-looking, well-made protective gear over the years.

Sadly, its UK distribution has been left wanting of late. But that's all changing, because the leather maestros now have the mighty chaps at Fowlers of Bristol on side. So the South-West technocrats will be minding the paperwork and paying the bills, while the Italian guys will be making the spangly new kit. Simples.

First out of the 2010 block is this new Blaster suit. Acid-fuelled Hitchcockian photo effects aside, it looks like a classy bit of hide, and has a decent spec to match. Here's the PR:

Full-grain leather construction combines with high tensile fabric in the flex zones and a thermoformed, anti-allergenic, Neoprene collar for a comfortable fit. CE approved armour throughout underlines Spyke's commitment to safety, with new shells on the shoulders and elbows manufactured from TPU and composite fibres. A removable poly mesh lining and aerodynamic speed hump complete the Blaster's impressive specification. Priced at £599.99 it is available in sizes 38” – 50” chest.
