Well, it's here! New Honda CBR600RR for 2007 is lighter and sharper than ever, ... Scroll down for the full story

So we've just received the official dope on Honda's CBR600RR for next year, and it looks like it'll be a good 'un.

The basics are a much smaller, lighter bike, down 8kg to 155kg, an all-new engine making 118bhp, and revised bodywork, including an SP-1-style ram-air intake smack between the headlights. There's an exhaust valve and an electronic steering damper, similar to that on the current Fireblade, new Bridgestone BT-015 tyres and a 22mm shorter wheelbase, down to 1,375mm.

There's more than a passing resemblance to the current Yamaha R6, particularly the new ram-air intake and the aerofoils on the lower fairing panels. However, Honda is pushing the strong midrange of this bike, rather than the screaming, high-rpm top end power of the R6. We'll be waiting for the riding launch to see the truth of the matter though.

For the full spec and SuperBike's take on the new bike, check the November issue of the magazine, out Sep 27th.
