An updated opinion on the new 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 from the launch at Guadix, Spain ... Scroll down for the full story

Jon Pearson is hot off the phone telling us what he thinks after two days riding the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750...

"I'm at Guadix and you'll be pleased to hear the new 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 hasn't lost any of the legendary bike's magic. There aren't massive differences - as you might have guessed if you've seen the spec sheet. Rather, like the 600 launched at Misano a couple of weeks ago (check out that story here), there are a series of small improvements, (brakes, front suspension, slipper clutch) which make the bike feel more sure of itself entering corners.

A day on the track at Guadix and a day on the roads up to and over the Sierra Nevada mountain range was a brilliant test but sadly involved a lot of riding at altitude, which means a bit of power loss negates any improvements in the engine (new camshaft, pistons, combustion chamber), which is a shame. Despite that it still fills the 'perfect all-round sportsbike' role which this bike has made its own for the past six years."
