Avon Tyres has launched a new, user-friendly website with an educational, practical and enjoyable, remit aimed squarely at us bikers. The re-vamped site should help motorcyclists find the right tyre for their motorcycle via the product finder, as well as locating their nearest dealer.
Information on the entire range of Avon Tyres is available at your fingertips, including the new VP2 range of sports tyres, with a quote from, umm, [cough] Jon Pearson from SuperBike magazine said: “It's hard to pick fault in the VP2s. From a road-rider's point of view you'd never be disappointed.”
The dedicated 'Rider' section on the website features safety information, including a section dedicated to how you can take care of your tyres. A regular 'Five Minutes with…' section features an industry interview with an Avon tyre product expert. In addition there's a feature called 'Where's Avon Taken You?', which recounts epic journeys made on Avon tyres. For the launch of the website there is also an interview with legendary cruiser builder Arlen Ness.
If you want to know more about the 'black art' of motorcycle tyres, then visit the site's technical section, where everything is explained from motorcycle tyre construction, to exactly what those numbers and letters on your sidewall mean. There's also a section that explains all about tyre sizing and just what the speed and load ratings are.
