Yamaha marshals Castle parkers
May 26, 2006 - JP
Two quick NIBS for anyone going to the TT this year ... Scroll down for the full story
The first is that Yamaha riders visiting the TT will have their own Yamaha-only bike park at the Castle Mona Hotel on the Central Promenade, Douglas. Rumour has it Yamaha UK marketing supremo Harley Stephens will be personally on hand, complete with orange jacket, to marshal people into parking spaces.
You can't miss the Castle Mona Hotel; it's that huge great place which, surprisingly enough, looks like a castle, half way along the Prom. The Mona is something of a focal point during TT week with a number of nocturnal happenings aimed at diverting your attention.
And as if that wasn't enough for all you lucky people every rider leaving their bike at the bike park will be entered into a draw for a Yamaha Racing jumbo kit bag. Quite how you'll get the huge 150-litre bag home on the back of your Yamaha is another thing.
Oh, and the other NIB? Reports are coming through from the Met office that it possibly could rain during TT week. So take some waterproofs - like you needed telling!
The Isle of Man TT practice kicks off tomorrow (27th May), with the first race coming in a week's time on Saturday 3rd June.
