Yamaha YZF-R125 Team Fiat MotoGP replica

If you're 17 and looking for learner wheels, then the Yamaha YZF-R125 is probably already near the top of your dream list. And this will catapult it into first. The tuning fork brand has released this official MotoGP replica paintjob of the R125. Price is yet to be announced, and here's the full (rather gushing) P.R.

"Yamaha Introduce Stunning YZF-R125 Team Replica

First released in March 2008, the YZF-R125 has changed the way riders think about 125cc class bikes and currently the model is the UK's best selling supersport 125. In July, customers will be able to show their support for the Fiat Yamaha Team by owning a gorgeous YZF-R125 adorned by the team's unique livery.

With bodywork designed by R1 designer Kazumasa Sasanami, the R125 has looks that rival the bigger R1 and R6. It isn't a miniature sportsbike though; based on a full-size chassis, the R125 has road presence to match both R1 and R6 models. And that bigger frame makes it suitable for taller and older riders too.

Born from the supersport DNA of the R1 and R6, the YZF-R125 has R-series style and attitude. Its free-revving, liquid-cooled 4-stroke single cylinder SOHC engine is fuel injected for near-instant throttle response, while a 6-speed gearbox harnesses the power for optimum acceleration and top speed. 17-inch tyres on lightweight 10-spoke wheels provide solid grip through the corners, while large diameter 292mm front disc and 230mm rear disc brakes bring the bike to a confident and stable stop.

The R125 features the same dramatic, sculpted R-series styling as its big brothers. With a low drag cowling, twin headlights and a slim tail with LED rear lights, everything about the R125's design says sports performance. Add those distinctive Team Yamaha graphics and it could be mistaken for a Yamaha MotoGP racer.

Beneath the bodywork, a lightweight Deltabox frame combined with a cast aluminium swinging-arm delivers class-leading handling. The mid-ship exhaust muffler - a feature the R125 shares with the larger R6 – adds to the R125's sporty look. And, because it's full-sized, the R125 provides a comfortable riding position – even for the tallest riders.

Combining an eager 125cc engine, a race-style chassis and striking R-series bodywork in official Team Yamaha livery – the YZF-R125 is the perfect introduction to supersport riding."
